Homemade Crayons

What you need:

What to do:

Make special crayons for you baby aged 18 months and older. Remove the paper from old, broken non-toxic crayon pieces and place the pieces in a tin foil pie tin. Put the tin in a warm oven (with heat off) to melt. Let them cool and pop them out of the tin. You can make single colour or rainbow crayons - perfect for a toddler's small hands to grip.

Give your toddler different-size, shape and texture papers to draw on. If you attach a piece of sandpaper under the paper, you child will be delighted by the effect she gets when she rubs a crayon over the surface. (Remember: don't expect your little one to do this activity for long!)
