A Child's Idividual Needs

A Child's Individual Needs

I will need to know the following:

About the family, other members and whether there is any one not permitted contact with the child, their cultural and religious or traditional background and how it affects the care of the child

Children should arrive dressed for play. Having fun involves outdoor play and lots of messy activities, so make sure that your child is dressed appropriately. Please don't dress your child in designer clothing or expect them to be spotless when you arrive to pick them up. Clothing should be comfortable and seasonally appropriate.

I prefer that children do not bring toys from home unless it is something that can be shared with the entire group. Little ones have a difficult time sharing with others, and it is even harder with their own special toys. If toys are brought please note that they may be put away if they are the cause of disagreements among the children. This does not include their favourite sleepy time toy for nap time.

Food and likes, dislikes, allergies, any food the child is not allowed and what eating implements are used

Dressing and if the child can dress themselves, likes privacy (depending on age)

Toileting (nappies, wipes to be provided) toilet training

Separation and how the child handles this

Rituals for sleep, mealtimes etc.

Nap times and routines

Medical concerns

Outing and the parents views on them

I do a daily report on the child listing, nappy changes and what time, whether it was dirty, dinner menu, was the dinner all eaten, sleep time and length and what activities they have spent the day doing.

I KEEP A CHILD RECORD FORM WITH DETAILS SUCH AS CONTACT PHONE NUMBERS, NAME OF THEIR DOCTOR, IMMUNISATIONS, AND ALLERGIES ETC.
